About The Role

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Data Engineer to join our team. This position focuses on building and maintaining scalable data systems that support internal analytics, customer insights, and integrations. You will work closely with engineering, product, and customer success teams, bringing a collaborative, pragmatic approach to design and implementation. This role requires strong technical proficiency, ownership of systems, and a desire to continuously improve both product and process.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and Airflow DAGs
• Own and support data integrations between Apollos and customer platforms (e.g., ChMS systems)
• Monitor and troubleshoot sync health issues
• Define and deliver actionable metrics in partnership with product, marketing, and customer success
• Architect data export systems for customer platforms
• Document systems to support scalability and transparency
• Ensure processes align with project management systems (e.g., Linear, Basecamp, Cycle Pulse)
• Continuously enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of the data infrastructure
• Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver impactful, data-driven solutions
• Work in six-week focused delivery cycles with an iterative, feedback-driven mindset
  
  

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in data engineering or ETL development
• Strong experience with tools such as Airflow, PostgreSQL, Postgres/Database, and BigQuery
• Proficiency in Python for building and maintaining clean, efficient ETL pipelines
• Experience working with REST, SOAP, or OData APIs
• Practical approach to data reliability and observability
• Proven ability to collaborate with product, engineering, and non-technical teams
• Strong communication skills and empathy to explain complex data systems clearly
• Passion for building clean, scalable, and reliable data infrastructure
• Interest in contributing to platforms that serve churches and large communities
