Job summary

Packsize is seeking a Data Engineer in Salt Lake City to design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures. You’ll collaborate across teams to translate requirements into robust data solutions that power analytics and business growth.

You will implement ETL/ELT processes, work with a modern data stack (including Snowflake, Databricks, DOMO, Fabric), and drive data quality and governance, enabling trusted insights and scalable data platforms for decision making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in data engineering or related technical roles.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics or data integration.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL for complex querying, optimization, and data transformation.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Python for scripting, automation, and ETL development.
  • Advanced dimensional modeling skills, with experience designing star schemas and semantic layers for analytics.
  • Experience with metadata driven pipelines and data governance practices.
  • Familiarity with data platforms such as DOMO, Databricks, Snowflake, Fabric.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support modern data analytics and integration needs.
  • Build and optimize data models and semantic layers for efficient querying and reporting.
  • Implement robust ETL/ELT processes using Python and SQL to ensure high-quality data delivery.
  • Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Ensure data architecture performance, scalability, and maintainability.
