Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a Data Engineer to help build production-ready data pipelines that move data from ingestion to a consumption layer. The role is based in Piscataway, NJ and follows Medallion Architecture, with an emphasis on compliant, efficient, and well-documented solutions. This is a hybrid position supporting ongoing improvements across the data platform.
You will work with Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL to design and maintain end-to-end pipelines, while collaborating with business and IT stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data delivery. The focus includes assembling enterprise-aligned datasets, optimizing performance and cost, and keeping workflows reliable through automation and tuning.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption using Snowflake, dbt, Python, and SQL, aligned to Medallion Architecture standards.
- Assemble large-scale, complex datasets in line with enterprise standards, optimizing infrastructure for both performance and cost.
- Improve pipelines continuously by automating manual workflows, tuning query execution, and evaluating emerging data technologies.
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to convert functional requirements into scalable data delivery solutions and address technical pipeline blockers.
- Maintain code quality and enterprise compliance through peer GitHub code reviews, technical documentation, and pipeline design standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role.
- Proven experience with Python and SQL, plus hands‑on experience building scalable data pipelines and managing databases in AWS/GCP.
- Experience using Git, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), Terraform, Airflow, and Snowflake/dbt.

Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience in a Data Engineering role working closely with other programmers (Software Engineers, Data Scientists, etc.).
- Experience with network, server, and application‑status monitoring.
- Familiarity with software‑automation production systems (GitHub Actions, Selenium, etc.).
- Familiarity with code deployment tools.
- Familiarity with preparing datasets for AI/ML models, vector embeddings, or feature engineering.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary range: USD 76,800 - 121,000 per year.
- Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
- Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit‑sharing, and long‑term incentives for Executive‑level roles.
