Job Overview

A senior‑level Data Engineer responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs. The role contributes to application systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs.
• Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation, and provide user and operational support to business users.
• Utilize in‑depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems and provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards.
• Recommend and develop security measures in post‑implementation analysis of business usage.
• Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and assist with system installation and customer exposure.
• Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
• Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
• Operate with limited direct supervision, exercise independence of judgment and autonomy.
• Act as SME to senior stakeholders and other team members.
• Assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation, safeguarding Citi, clients and assets, and maintaining compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects.
• Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques and methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Critical Skills

• Data Warehouse/ETL design and development methodology knowledge and experience.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AIRFLOW, SNOWFLAKE.
• Database expertise on MongoDB, Oracle, PostgreSQL.
• Expertise in Unix shell scripting, Python, PySpark.
• ETL expertise on AbInitio tool (EME, GDE, Co‑op).
• Familiarity with infrastructure needs to keep environments up and running and tweak as necessary.
• Experience working in the Mortgage Originations and Servicing domain.
• Extensive experience in system analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of BigData technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements of applications is a plus.
• Exposure to AI trends and technologies.

Benefits and Compensation

Primary location full‑time salary range: $142,320.00‑$213,480.00. Additional compensation may include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
