Primary Responsibilities

The DEA Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions that align with business objectives and customer needs. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient applications using modern technologies and agile practices. Engineers are expected to apply a product mindset, embrace continuous integration and delivery, and ensure software quality through rigorous testing and data-driven improvements. Success in this role requires adaptability, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Essential Functions

• Design, develop, and maintain software features and services, writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to established engineering standards and design patterns.

• Translate product and business requirements into technical solutions, collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineers to ensure solutions align with product goals and user needs.

• Participate actively in agile development processes, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, and retrospectives, helping ensure work is clearly defined and prioritized.

• Ensure software quality and reliability, applying testing best practices, integrating code into CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining stable and scalable application components.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, QA, and engineering peers, to deliver cohesive and well-integrated product features.

• Monitor and improve system performance and product usage, using logs, analytics, and performance metrics to validate features and guide improvements after release.

• Continuously improve engineering practices and technical capabilities, learning new technologies, sharing knowledge with peers, and contributing to improvements in development tools and workflows.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

• Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages and frameworks, with the ability to design maintainable code and apply design patterns and engineering best practices.

• Ability to understand product goals and user needs and translate them into effective technical solutions that deliver business value.

• Ability to work effectively with product managers, designers, QA, and engineers to deliver high-quality features and resolve technical or delivery challenges.

• Ability to incorporate analytics, logs, and system metrics into development and validation processes to continuously improve product performance and reliability.

• Ability to quickly learn new technologies, adapt to evolving product priorities, and actively contribute to team knowledge-sharing and engineering improvement initiatives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• At least three years of professional experience with data engineering tools and cloud platforms (e.g., SQL, Python, Spark, AWS/Azure/GCP)

• Strong understanding of data modeling, architecture, and governance best practices.

• Experience with analytics, BI, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

• Familiarity with ML/AI engineering, MLOps, and model deployment practices.

• Expertise in data integration, API design, and event-driven architectures.

• Product mindset with ability to prioritize by value, outcomes, and customer impact.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field preferred or similar coding education alternatives to traditional four-year degrees.
