Job description

Please note that your resume and application clearly demonstrate that you have:

United States Citizenship (essential to comply with government contract requirements).

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance or agency work suitability determination, as required by assignment.

Willingness to work full time, on-site, embedded at US Government offices in the Washington, DC area. (Specific office assignments are subject to change).

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and delivery of data-enabled solutions that advance the mission of Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS). This role requires strong technical expertise in working with structured and unstructured data, including data integration, extraction, transformation, analysis, and delivery. You will collaborate closely with teams across the technology organization, including product development, software engineering, data science, and business development, to develop innovative solutions that address complex customer challenges. In addition to supporting internal initiatives, you will work directly with customer technology teams to implement, customize, and maintain TRSS solutions and proof-of-concept projects. The role also includes designing and supporting scalable data pipelines and workflows, improving operational efficiencies through automation, providing solution architecture support for business opportunities, and advising leadership on technical capabilities and customer infrastructure requirements. Success in this position requires the ability to understand unique client missions and technical environments and translate those needs into customized solutions that effectively integrate TRSS content into customer applications.

About You:

This opportunity is specifically for positions located on US Government customer sites in the Washington, DC area. This is not a telework position.

You are an experienced data professional with several years of hands-on data engineering experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. You have successfully led the implementation and customization of technical solutions, ideally within government or mission-focused environments, and possess strong programming skills with languages such as Python and SQL. Your background includes experience working with RESTful web services, modern data communication technologies, relational and document-oriented databases, and a variety of data formats including XML, JSON, flat files, and graph-based data structures. You are comfortable working in both graphical and command-line environments across Linux and Windows operating systems and have familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure, particularly AWS. As a self-motivated and results-oriented professional, you bring a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform effectively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
