Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking a Data Engineer to build and maintain data pipelines across multiple business systems in Denver, CO. You will translate requirements into dashboards and robust tooling that enable data-driven decisions across operations, manufacturing, and design engineering.

Required 5+ years in data engineering within aerospace/defense/advanced manufacturing, with Python, SQL, Spark, and Databricks experience. On-site role with a strong emphasis on governance and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 5+ years of data engineering experience in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing/R&D.
  • Proficient in Python and SQL; Spark experience preferred.
  • Strong data modeling, ETL pipelines, relational databases; SQL experience with Databricks and AWS S3.
  • Experience building interactive dashboards/visualizations (Plotly/Dash, Streamlit, or similar).
  • Ability to learn new technical domains quickly and translate complex systems into robust tools.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or eligible status.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines across CAD/CAE, PLM, ERP, procurement, and other systems to close data gaps and drive business decisions.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and error handling to minimize data pipeline disruptions.
  • Translate product and business requirements into tools, dashboards, and demos.
  • Streamline existing systems and workflows through automation to boost operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across operations, manufacturing, supply chain, design engineering, experimental physics, computation, and controls.
  • Document design decisions and manage stakeholder change during tool rollouts.
  • Support data governance by documenting ownership, lineage, and access requirements as new systems come online.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations across CAD/CAE, PLM, ERP, procurement, and other business systems, closing gaps in data availability across the org and turning that data into information that drives business decisions.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and error‑handling practices so data pipeline failures are caught early and resolved with minimal disruption.
  • Convert defined requirements and user stories from product and business stakeholders into working tools, dashboards, and demos.
  • Discover and streamline existing systems, workflows, and processes through automation and improved data pipelines to increase operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate across domains such as business operations, manufacturing, supply chain, design engineering, experimental physics, computation, and controls to deliver fit‑for‑purpose tools.
  • Drive clear, well‑documented process and tool rollouts, capturing the reasoning behind design decisions, managing change with stakeholders, and building solutions that hold up as business needs and underlying systems evolve.
  • Support data governance efforts by documenting ownership, lineage, and access requirements as new systems and integrations come online.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering for an aerospace, defense, semiconductor, or other advanced manufacturing/R&D company
  • Proficient in Python and SQL; familiarity with Spark (PySpark/Spark SQL) strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL pipelines, relational databases and SQL Experience with the Databricks Lakehouse platform (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, workflows) and AWS S3 cloud object storage.
  • Experience building interactive dashboards and visualizations (e.g. Plotly/Dash, Streamlit, or similar)
  • Proven ability to learn new technical domains quickly and translate complex systems into robust tools
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
