Job summary

ComputerPeople Staffing is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to stand up a centralized enterprise data platform in Buffalo, NY on a hybrid model. You will own OFDI, design data architecture, and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines across SAP, on-prem Oracle, SQL Server, GIS, and more.

You’ll architect data models, mappings, and governance while enabling analytics with Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud. This role requires strong SQL and cloud/on-prem hybrid experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical owner for Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (OFDI), responsible for standing up, configuring, and evolving it as the enterprise analytics hub.
• Independently design enterprise data architecture, including data modeling, repository structure, and segmentation strategy across disparate sources.
• Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest multi-source data into a centralized data warehouse.
• Develop and maintain integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) as enterprise middleware.
• Drive the transition away from legacy flat file integrations toward API-based, event-driven data flows.
• Implement data quality checks, reconciliation processes, and monitoring controls to support auditability and regulatory compliance.
• Curate trusted, analytics-ready datasets for downstream BI tools including Power BI and Oracle Analytics Cloud.
• Build and maintain semantic data models and data mappings that enable self-service reporting and enterprise analytics.
• Collaborate with application and business stakeholders to define data requirements across operational, financial, regulatory, and customer domains.
• Establish data governance frameworks, data lineage documentation, and data quality standards from the ground up.
• Document data flows, technical designs, and integration specifications for long-term maintainability.
• Partner with enterprise architecture and application teams to align data solutions to enterprise standards.
• Evaluate and recommend supplemental data tools with meaningful input into tooling decisions (e.g., Microsoft Fabric).
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy with minimal mentorship for this skill set.
• Identify future capability gaps and contribute to hiring decisions as the data engineering function grows.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience independently designing and building ETL/ELT pipelines and data architecture for enterprise environments (not limited to executing an existing design), covering both relational and cloud-based approaches
• 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data integration, or analytics engineering
• Strong SQL skills and hands‑on experience with relational platforms such as Oracle and SQL Server
• Experience ingesting from multiple disparate systems (examples listed: ERP, CRM, CIS, asset management) into a unified data model
• Scripting experience (examples listed: Python, PowerShell) for pipeline automation
• Familiarity with cloud-based enterprise platforms and hybrid on‑prem/cloud architectures
• Self‑directed approach with strong instincts for data quality, auditability, and governance
• Knowledge of enterprise integration and data architecture design patterns
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
