Job summary

Global Technical Talent, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer 3 for a 6-month contract in Boise, ID. The role supports a Databricks migration engagement and is 100% remote with onsite flexibility.

Responsibilities include designing Databricks ingestion pipelines, building silver and gold tables, collaborating with BI teams, and performing tests and reviews to ensure data quality. 4+ years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL experience with queries, tables, and updates (T-SQL).
• ETL development using Azure Databricks, DBSQL, SSIS, and SQL Server.
• Experience ingesting data from diverse sources (RDBMS, XML/JSON, flat files, APIs).
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, data models, and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

• Ingests: design Databricks ingestion pipelines leveraging various sources.
• Designs silver and gold tables in Databricks from existing SQL Server solutions.
• Collaborates with BI analysts/devs to implement data models.
• Prepares and participates in design/code reviews per standards.
• Tests and troubleshoots reporting solutions; resolves complex issues.
• Ensures compliance with HIPAA and corporate privacy policies.

Data Engineer 3

Location: Boise, ID

Contract Details

• Position Type: Contract
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Pay Rate: $60.00 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary

This role is for Data Engineer contractors supporting a Databricks migration engagement. This role is 100% remote.

Key Responsibilities

• Ingests: Design and implement Databricks ingestion processes, leveraging Databricks skills, St. Luke's tools and skills with different types of sources.
• Design and Build: Design silver and gold tables in Databricks based on existing solutions deployed in Health Catalyst installed on Microsoft SQL Server.
• Collaborate and Develop: Work collaboratively with Business Intelligence analysts and Business Intelligence developers to design and build silver and gold tables.
• Design and Code Reviews: Prepare for and participate in design and code reviews according to St. Luke's design standards.
• Test and Troubleshoot: Participate in testing methodologies, ensuring the functionality and integrity of our reporting solutions. Troubleshoot and resolve errors and solve complex technical problems.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate policies and privacy regulations like HIPAA.

Required Skills

• SQL Proficiency: Strong SQL experience writing queries, creating tables, and performing updates with Transact SQL and DB SQL.
• ETL Expertise: Strong experience writing ETL with Azure Databricks, DBSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Transact SQL, SSIS.
• Data Ingestion: Experience ingesting data from many different types of sources (RDBMS, XML files, JSON files, Flat files, APIs).
• Database Expertise: Experience with database management systems, including performance optimizing and tuning and security.
• Design Experience: Experience with data warehousing methodologies and data model development.
• Communication/Collaboration: Speak up quickly when something is discovered, listen and work with others to solve problems, share lessons learned from prior migrations.

Preferred Skills

• Additional Experience: Experience with Power BI, Health Catalyst, and Epic is a plus.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
