Base pay range

$130,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr

Location: Remote (U.S. Based) | Hybrid Options Available

Employment Type: Full-time | W2 or C2C

Role Summary:

We are seeking a Data Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in designing and building scalable data solutions. This individual will be instrumental in architecting modern data pipelines for both real-time and batch processing using a wide array of cloud-native tools and technologies, including AWS, Databricks, Kafka, Snowflake, Terraform, and more. You will collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient data infrastructure that supports analytics, operations, and product development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize real-time and batch data pipelines leveraging AWS Glue, Lambda, Databricks, Kafka, and other services.
• Use dbt for data transformation, modeling, and maintaining high-quality datasets.
• Build infrastructure using Terraform to support cloud services including S3, Kinesis, API Gateway, DynamoDB, EventBridge, and Step Functions.
• Implement and manage workload orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions for automated scheduling and task management.

Security, Monitoring & Observability

• Enforce data security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption standards, and secure VPC configurations.
• Set up and manage monitoring and logging frameworks using tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or ELK to ensure system reliability.

Testing & Automation

• Develop and maintain automated tests for data pipelines (unit, integration, and performance testing).
• Integrate testing and deployment processes into CI/CD pipelines for robust development workflows.
• Partner with software engineers, data scientists, and analysts to meet business objectives through reliable data delivery.
• Document infrastructure, data workflows, and best practices to support onboarding and scalability.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Data Engineering
• Expertise with:
• AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, Kinesis, API Gateway, IAM, DynamoDB, Step Functions, ECS/EKS
• Databricks or Apache Spark for distributed processing
• Kafka for real-time data streaming
• Python and advanced SQL
• dbt for transformation workflows
• Terraform for infrastructure automation
• Snowflake or other cloud data warehouses
• Strong knowledge of data lake architectures, DevOps, and serverless computing
• Experience with automated testing and deployment frameworks

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in AWS, Databricks, or Snowflake
• Experience with data lineage tools, governance frameworks, or MLOps pipelines
• Industry experience in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, or government
