Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a data engineer to design and implement data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, with a focus on data quality and scalable performance in Power BI.

You will shape ingestion patterns, implement delta lake patterns, and collaborate with BI teams in an agile environment to deliver client-focused analytics solutions.

Qualifications

Job description

• Develop and maintain reliable Microsoft Fabric pipelines and notebooks supporting analytics and reporting
• Implement incremental loads, watermarking, and merging logic
• Design ingestion patterns for rapid onboarding of new clients
• Engineer monitoring and observability to prevent SLA breaches
• Ensure data quality and reliability across datasets
• Implement Bronze/Silver/Gold Medallion architecture
• Design dimensional models for revenue-focused analytics
• Design reusable, scalable data structures across multiple clients
• Optimize partitioning and storage for predictable performance
• Improve Direct Lake and semantic model performance in Power BI
• Reduce refresh times and memory usage
• Partner with BI developers to maintain high modeling standards
• Monitor Fabric capacity usage and workload patterns
• Optimize refresh strategies and reduce compute spikes
• Contribute to GitHub workflow and future dbt integration roadmap
• Collaborate with BI developers, analysts, and stakeholders
• Translate requirements into features and user stories
• Participate in agile ceremonies
• Explain technical decisions and obtain prioritization and approval before execution
• Create lightweight documentation
• Follow SDLC practices including Git, CI/CD, and code reviews

Requirements

• 2–5 years of data engineering experience
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and hands-on Delta Lake experience
• Microsoft Fabric experience building production solutions

• Experience building scalable ingestion frameworks
• Track record in client-facing or revenue-driven analytics environments

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical decisions to non-technical audiences
• Experience working in agile environments using features and user stories
