Job summary

The City of Cibolo Police Department is seeking a skilled Crime Analyst to join the Criminal Investigations Division and the HEAT Team. The role involves collecting, analyzing, and disseminating timely information on crime patterns, suspects, and motor-vehicle related activity.

The analyst will produce reports, maps, and dashboards, leveraging GIS and crime databases, while coordinating with detectives and external agencies to support investigations and patrol operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in police science, criminology, sociology, public administration, computer science, statistics, math, or related areas of study.
• Two (2) years of experience in a law enforcement agency as an analyst OR Four (4) years of experience in a law enforcement agency as an analyst with an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyses crime data and reports for crime detection and crime forecasting.
• Collects and organizes crime bulletins, statistics, and prepares detailed analytical reports.
• Develops and produces crime maps using GIS and prepares charts, graphs and reports.
• Maintains liaison with investigative support staff and other agencies.
• Coordinates cases with detectives and outside agencies.
