Job summary

ProSight Financial Association in Chicago, IL is seeking an Application Developer for ProSight Research to build and optimize internal reporting and data solutions using SQL, .NET, and Microsoft Fabric. The role collaborates with business stakeholders to gather requirements and design scalable data models, ensuring robust deployment across dev, test, and production environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
3+ years of professional software development experience.
2+ years of SQL development experience.
2+ years of .NET development experience.
Experience with Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments preferred.
Experience with SSIS preferred.
Python experience highly preferred.
Experience working within Agile software development methodologies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide application development and ongoing support for internal reporting and data solutions.
Analyze data sources and aggregation tables, and explore optimization techniques within Microsoft Fabric to improve performance.
Analyze, design, develop, and maintain systems and subsystems related to back-end databases.
Develop and maintain data models, advanced SQL queries, and stored procedures; create or enhance reports and dashboards as needed.
Work closely with business partners and stakeholders to gather and document business and functional requirements, translating them into technical specifications and working solutions.
Ensure proper documentation and adherence to established development standards; identify opportunities to leverage existing or new technologies to improve processes.
Coordinate and support testing activities, including the development of test cases and the scheduling of test events with IT staff and business users for system changes and releases.
Independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues with minimal supervision.
Proactively identify opportunities to apply technical solutions that improve business processes and drive efficiency, cost savings, or revenue opportunities.
Develop and implement deployment plans for promoting application code through development, testing, and production environments.
