Achievement First in Rhode Island is seeking a dedicated 5th Grade Math/Elementary Teacher for the 2026-27 school year to deliver rigorous instruction and foster an equitable learning environment. You’ll inspire scholars to grow academically and personally, while collaborating with families to support student success.

The role emphasizes data-driven planning, unit and lesson design with grade teams, and ongoing professional development through coaching and collaboration with school leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 students; two years of teaching experience preferred.
• Rhode Island certification or in process of obtaining a certification.
• Elementary Education Teacher certification (11201)

Responsibilities

• Create a positive, achievement-oriented and structured learning environment that excites and invests students to reach ambitious goals.
• Build classroom community by partnering with families to facilitate children’s academic success and personal development.
• Utilize data from interim assessments to drive instruction and intervention.
• Implement unit and lesson plans with the grade or subject team.

• Collaborate with coach, grade-level chair and school team to improve instructional, culture-building and leadership skills.
• Attend all professional development, team planning and data analysis meetings.
