Job summary

YipitData is seeking a Central Data Lead to own a foundational data domain end-to-end, combining deep data expertise with technical leadership. You will design reusable methodologies, set analytics direction, and partner with multiple teams to deliver scalable data products.

We value expertise in SQL and Python/PySpark, experience leading complex projects, and a bias toward action. The role may be performed remotely within the United States, with NYC as HQ.

Qualifications

• 6-8+ years of data analytics experience in fields like financial services, management consulting, data science, or high-growth tech.
• Expert fluency in SQL and experience using Python or PySpark, including building reliable, reusable analysis workflows.
• Proven track record of quickly learning complex data methodologies and building strong mental models of data.
• Led complex, ambiguous projects with multiple stakeholders and a strong bias toward action.
• Ability to reason about bias, representativeness and data quality in analyses.
• Experience with messy, evolving datasets and schemas; detail-oriented and disciplined.
• Clear communication of complex concepts to influence cross-functional partners.
• Energized by building and owning a domain end-to-end and mentoring junior analysts.

Responsibilities

• Own the lifecycle of your data domain end-to-end, from raw data to downstream products.
• Build systems that improve data quality with validation, monitoring and QA.
• Design reusable methodologies that scale across domains and teams.
• Set analytical and technical direction with cross-functional partners.
• Expand domain by onboarding new datasets and building integration patterns.
• Redesign analytical work with AI and automation to improve scale and quality.
• Mentor junior analysts and help define team standards and culture.
