Job Description

The SSIS / SSRS / Power BI developer will report to the Deputy Director of the Data Portfolio and will be responsible for working with the team to develop and support the data needs of the agency.

The candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Analyzing user specifications and requirements that reflect business program needs, and subsequently delivering high-quality software solutions that meet those needs.
  2. Design, develop, test, maintain and modify software programs according to specifications, verifying logic, and provide guidance to other developers, performing necessary debugging, and writing related documentation.
  3. Perform impact analysis on large and complex projects by analyzing and evaluating interrelationships of programs to determine how changes in one program will affect another.
  4. The candidate may also be called upon to perform a variety of duties to ensure proper operation of systems, meet IT commitments, and leverage the skills of individuals within the team effectively.
  5. Perform code reviews and unit testing to identify problems, facilitate change, simplify integration, and improve documentation and design.
  6. Review programs prior to implementation to verify consistency and conformance with IT guidelines, policies, practices, and industry standards.
  7. Work within the underlying architecture for all assigned software projects.
  8. Use various ETL tools and techniques to solve data transportation problems.
  9. Implement quantitative analysis and statistical modeling to evaluate the impact of City policies.
  10. Write optimized SQL queries, functions, and stored procedures, and improve existing code.

Qualifications

(1) A bachelor’s degree with 24 semester credits in computer science or related field and two years of full-time software experience, including one year in a project leader or major contributor role on complex projects; or

(2) A high school diploma or equivalent and six years of full-time software experience, including one year in a project leader or major contributor role; or

(3) An equivalent combination of education and experience. College credits can substitute for experience, and a master's degree can substitute for one year of experience. All candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in a project leader role on complex projects.
