Job summary

Paylocity in Meridian, ID is seeking a Data Conversion Specialist for the Operations team. This role combines payroll knowledge with technical skills in SQL and advanced MS Excel to convert client data onto the Paylocity platform.

You will coordinate with Implementation Consultants and customers to ensure accurate data extraction and formatting. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years’ payroll data experience, strong attention to detail, and proficient SQL/Access skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years’ experience working with payroll data preferred.
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Basic SQL skills preferred; experience in SQL Server is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external requests during implementation.
• Work directly with clients to coordinate and schedule electronic data extraction.
• Convert time clocks, history, and custom data extractions for clients.
• Use MS Excel, SQL Server, and Paylocity tools to research issues and update databases.
• Review client data for accuracy prior to uploading.
• Ensure previous provider data is extracted and formatted for Web Pay.
• Pull data based on purchased products with a holistic approach.
• Analyze and define mapping rules for data conversion.
• Assist in data cleanup and related duties as needed.

In-Office: This is a 100% in-office role based at any of our Meridian, ID location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.

Position Overview

The Data Conversion Specialist is a technical support role with SQL skills and advanced MS Excel skills. This position is a resource for the Implementation Consultants and enhance Paylocity’s electronic conversion function working with Payroll and HR. This position combines technical ability with payroll knowledge, creativity, and can-do attitude to convert new companies onto the Paylocity payroll processing platform.

Primary Responsibilities

• Respond to internal and external requests during implementation
• Work directly with clients to coordinate and schedule electronic data extraction
• Responsible for converting time clocks, history (including check detail, rate and position) and custom data extractions
• Use MS Excel, SQL Server, and Paylocity data conversion tools to research issues and update customer databases
• Review and/or format client supplied data for accuracy prior to uploading
• Take accountability to ensure previous provider data is successful extracted and formatted for Web Pay
• Pull data dependent on which of the products the client purchased with a holistic approach
• Responsible for analyzing and defining mapping rules
• Assist in data cleanup where necessary
• All other duties as assigned

Education And Experience

• 3-5 years’ experience working with payroll data preferred

• Basic SQL skills preferred; experience in SQL Server is also a plus

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.

The base pay range for this position is $50,000-$60,000/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here.
