Qualifications

• 10+ years in telecommunications, fiber, structured cabling, or data center infra.
• Strong fiber optic and structured cabling project experience.
• Experience in data centers, network facilities or labs.
• Knowledge of fiber splicing, termination, testing, and certification.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Understanding of MDF/IDF, MMRs, telecom rooms, racks, and pathways.
• PM skills: scheduling, documentation, communication.
• Ability to work onsite and coordinate field activities.

Responsibilities

• Manage telecom, fiber, and structured cabling projects from planning to completion.
• Develop scope, schedules, estimates, materials, and deployment plans.
• Coordinate fiber optic, copper, backbone, cross-connect, and cabling installations.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and telecommunications providers.
• Conduct site walks, construction reviews, progress meetings, and inspections.
• Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Coordinate fiber splicing, termination, testing, labeling, and certification.
• Monitor schedules, risks, milestones, and deliverables.
• Ensure installations meet project specs and industry standards.
• Manage punch-list, as-builts, documentation, and project closeout.

Data Center Telecom / Fiber Project Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Center Telecom / Fiber Project Manager to manage the planning and deployment of telecommunications infrastructure across data centers, technical facilities, and laboratory environments.

The role will focus on fiber optic cabling, structured cabling, telecom rooms, network infrastructure, and data center construction projects. The PM will coordinate contractors, vendors, facilities, networking, and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage telecom, fiber, and structured cabling projects from planning through completion.
• Develop project scope, schedules, estimates, materials, and deployment plans.
• Coordinate fiber optic, copper, backbone, cross-connect, and structured cabling installations.
• Manage contractors, vendors, and telecommunications providers.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience managing fiber optic and structured cabling projects.
• Experience in data centers, network facilities, laboratories, or other technical environments.
• Knowledge of fiber splicing, termination, testing, and certification.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and vendors.
• Strong understanding of MDF/IDF, MMRs, telecom rooms, racks, patch panels, cable trays, and pathways.
• Strong project management, scheduling, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite and coordinate field activities.

Preferred

• 15+ years of related experience.
• RCDD, BICSI, or PMP certification.
• Experience with large-scale data center fiber deployments.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Visio, or Bluebeam.
• Experience with hyperscale or enterprise data center environments.
