Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. seeks a Data Center Technician to perform preventative maintenance and repairs within a Data Center operation in Michigan City, Indiana.

This on-site role requires prior DCS experience and mechanical/electrical aptitude, with a 12-hour shift pattern (7p–7a) on a 4-3-3-4 schedule. The position involves inspections, responding to alarms, and coordinating with vendors to meet safety, regulatory, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trained in a technical discipline with apprenticeship or equivalent and 1–2 years of related experience.
• Ability to work shifts that include weekends and holidays.
• Meet the physical requirements of the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on data center equipment.
• Assist with daily site inspections of mechanical & engineering systems and equipment.
• Respond to Building Management System alarms and complete emergency repairs as needed.
• Work with third-party vendors following company processes and regulations.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance on equipment.
• Check BMS for HVAC issues and respond to client problems.
• Take meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities during walkthroughs.
• Provide fixes to facility and plant faults and maintain comprehensive maintenance records.
