Job summary

Reboot Monkey is seeking a Data Center Technician to join our on-site team in Eden Prairie, MN. The role focuses on installing, configuring, and maintaining server and network gear, with emphasis on cabling and fault resolution.

You will support capacity planning, asset tracking, and documentation while collaborating with engineering and operations. A strong background in data center practices and certifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of data center operations experience.
• Expert cabling skills: Cat6/6a and OM3/OM4/OS2 fiber.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in demanding environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.
• Experience with rack-and-stack operations.
• Understanding of power distribution and UPS systems.
• Data center certifications (CDCP, CDCS, CDCE) - preferred.
• Vendor certifications (Dell, HPE, Cisco) - preferred.
• Network certifications (CCNA, JNCIA) - preferred.
• DCIM platforms knowledge - preferred.
• ITIL practices knowledge - preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
• Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting
• Maintain documentation and asset tracking
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
