Actalent is seeking a Data Center Technician III for Mount Pleasant, PA, to build, wire, test, and troubleshoot power distribution and transformer systems for hyperscale data centers. Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build and integrate complex transformer and power distribution assemblies using drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform wiring, routing, termination, crimping, soldering, and harness assembly activities.
  • Develop cable cut lists and harness routing plans from engineering drawings.
  • Follow work instructions and specifications to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Operate test equipment and perform preventive maintenance as required.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and assembly defects in a production environment.
  • Assist with process development, tooling improvements, and production optimization.
  • Perform verification testing and inspections per documentation and customer specs.

This role focuses on assembling complex electrical and electromechanical systems, including transformer assemblies, power distribution components, cabling, harnesses, and related infrastructure, while strictly adhering to engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Build and integrate complex transformer, power distribution, and mission-critical data center assemblies using production drawings, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Perform wiring, cable routing, termination, crimping, soldering, and cable assembly activities to connect electrical and mechanical systems within transformer and power distribution equipment.
  • Develop and execute cable cut lists, wire run schedules, and harness routing plans based on engineering drawings and customer requirements.
  • Follow written and verbal work instructions, engineering specifications, assembly procedures, and quality standards to complete assemblies accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate manufacturing and test equipment and perform routine preventive maintenance as required to ensure reliable operation.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and assembly-related defects in accordance with workmanship standards and quality requirements.
  • Support Data Center Systems Engineers and Manufacturing Engineers by assisting with assembly instructions, process development, tooling improvements, and production optimization.
  • Perform verification testing, continuity checks, functional testing, and inspection activities according to assembly documentation and customer specifications.
  • Interpret and execute work from electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate in a high-volume production environment to maintain workflow efficiency and minimize bottlenecks.
  • Recommend process improvements and documentation updates to enhance quality, safety, and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Assist in training and mentoring technicians on assembly procedures, workmanship standards, testing techniques, and best practices.
  • Perform rework, corrective actions, and repair activities as needed to ensure products meet customer and quality requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area at all times.
  • Adhere to all company, customer, and safety requirements associated with mission-critical infrastructure products.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical assembly, transformer manufacturing, data center infrastructure, industrial electrical systems, power distribution equipment, critical facilities, or related technical environments.
  • Proficiency in electrical assembly of transformers, power distribution systems, and electromechanical components.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Hands-on experience with wiring, cable routing, termination, crimping, soldering, and cable harness assembly.
  • Experience performing electrical testing, continuity checks, functional testing, and verification activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and assembly-related issues in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with mission-critical power infrastructure and data center power distribution systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to workmanship standards and quality requirements.
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions, assembly procedures, and engineering specifications.
  • Comfort working in a high-volume manufacturing or production environment while maintaining quality and safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Mechatronics, Applied Engineering Technology certificate, Electrical Technology degree, Military Electrical Experience, or similar technical training is preferred.
  • Experience supporting data center infrastructure, critical power systems, transformer manufacturing, switchgear, UPS systems, or electrical distribution equipment.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale data center environments and mission-critical power infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and functional verification practices.
  • Experience supporting power systems deployed for cloud, AI, or hyperscale data center applications.
  • Ability to contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation updates.
  • Experience mentoring or training other technicians on assembly and testing best practices.
Work Environment

This role operates within a high-volume production environment focused on mission-critical power and transformer systems for hyperscale data centers. You will work with manufacturing and test equipment, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation on a daily basis. The work involves hands-on assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and rework of electrical and electromechanical systems while maintaining a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace. Travel may be required, and daily per diem is available for candidates traveling from locations more than 50 miles away.

This is a Contract position based out of Mount Pleasant, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
