Job summary

NEI Electric Power Engineering, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Structural Engineer for the Data Center Structural group. You will lead the structural design of data center substations while also managing project scope, schedule, and budget, coordinating with teams, and serving as a key client contact.

The role emphasizes QA/QC leadership, clear communication of complex engineering concepts, and mentorship of junior staff in a fast-paced design environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Civil/Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred.
• 0-2 years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE, PE is a plus, but not required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, SAP2000, L-Pile, MathCad, and PLS-CADD is a plus.
• Strong understanding of structural analysis and foundation design.

Responsibilities

• Oversees project planning, scheduling, and coordination for substations, leading client communication and resource management.
• Produces and reviews design packages, and coordinates with internal teams for timely deliverables.
• Mentors junior team members and develops staff growth.
• Reviews internal scope, tracks progress, and communicates status through reports.
• Performs structural calculations for steel, concrete, foundations; ensures QA/QC standards.
