Job summary

CAI Mission Critical seeks DC Services Electrical Commissioning Engineers with 5–7 years of Data Center Commissioning experience to support development and execution of electrical aspects of commissioning projects.

You will conduct design reviews, safety oversight, script development, vendor coordination, testing, and reporting through project turnover while engaging with customers to ensure schedule adherence and a positive experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five to seven years of Data Center Commissioning experience.
  • OSHA and NFPA 70E safety knowledge.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of data center design concepts.
  • Experience with Electrical Distribution Switchgear, UPS, ATS, batteries, and generators.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Support all aspects of safety for all electrical tests.
  • Execute complete commissioning and performance testing of electrical infrastructure.
  • Conduct QA/QC of electrical test procedures.
  • Develop reports and contribute to daily status updates.
  • Attend customer equipment Factory Witness Tests and participate in vendor coordination.
  • Inspect equipment for conformance to vendor submittals and project specs.
  • Prepare design reviews, submittals, one-line diagrams, and schedule documentation.
  • Execute test scripts to verify operation per design specifications.
  • Maintain safe work practices on job sites and communicate with customers.

Job description

CAI seeks DC Services Electrical Commissioning Engineers with a minimum of five to seven years of experience in Data Center Commissioning to support the development and execution of all electrical aspects of assigned commissioning projects. The role involves design reviews, safety oversight, script development, vendor coordination, testing, and report development through project turnover.

Responsibilities
  • Support all aspects of safety for all electrical tests.
  • Execute complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of the electrical infrastructure systems.
  • Conduct QA/QC of all electrical test procedures.
  • Provide input and insight to the overall commissioning plan.
  • Develop reports for the electrical commissioning team and contribute to daily status reports to the Commissioning Project Manager.
  • Attend and actively participate in customer equipment Factory Witness Tests.
  • Assist with vendor coordination and management.
  • Perform equipment inspections to ensure build adherence to vendor submittals.
  • Document test results and verify equipment is delivered, installed, and functioning correctly for the customer.
  • Support design specification reviews, manufacturer submittals, one‑line drawings, and project schedule documentation.
  • Conduct QA/QC of electrical equipment installation and startup.
  • Execute test scripts to confirm equipment and system operation to design specification.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed by the commissioning team and on customer sites.
  • Engage with customers to ensure a positive experience, goal achievement, and schedule adherence.
  • Provide daily reports for the electrical commissioning team status.
  • Conduct facility walk‑downs, turnover, and punch list reviews.
  • Have a general understanding of LEED specifications and requirements.
  • Identify new opportunities for CAI to provide service and value to customers.
  • Perform additional duties as experience and skill allow.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of Data Center Commissioning experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E safety requirements.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and specifications.
  • Knowledge of data center design concepts.
  • Commissioning experience with Electrical Distribution Switchgear, Substations, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Batteries, Emergency Diesel Generators, and Load Banks.
  • Knowledge of power quality analysis.
  • Strong experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to effectively write electrical commissioning scripts, daily reports, and final commissioning reports.
  • Excellent oral and written English is required.
  • Extensive travel may be required (up to 75%).
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a passport immediately.
  • Work under construction site conditions.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
