Google is seeking a Server Operations Manager in Sterling, VA to lead a dedicated team of Data Center Technicians responsible for monitoring, deploying, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers Google's services.

This role covers installing and configuring server hardware and software, managing networking gear, and guiding project teams during hardware installations while ensuring high availability and security. US: $122000 - $173000 (USD) plus 15% bonus target and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience managing technical teams, vendor or agreement management and service delivery.
• 5 years of experience working in data center environments, including building and operating infrastructure, and network and compute architecture and life-cycle, and Linux/Unix system administration.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts (this role is third shift/night shift), holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

• Manage round-the-clock operations across all shifts (days, nights, weekends) within the metro area.
• Oversee hiring, coaching, talent development, and vendor management for technical teams.
• Lead the deployment, maintenance, and support of systems and network architectures.

• Execute global strategic projects aligned with company goals while driving strict Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance.

As a Server Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of Data Center Technicians tasked with monitoring, maintaining, and deploying the infrastructure that powers Google's search technology and global product portfolio.
