Job summary

The Archetype Strategy in Dallas is seeking a Data Technician to join our team. The role centers on building data cabinets, racking, and stacking hardware in a fast-paced data center environment.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of data center rack and stack experience and are comfortable handling physical equipment with care. You will install servers, switches, routers, and cabling, document configurations, monitor equipment, and assist with data center maintenance.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of data center rack and stack experience.
• Basic understanding of server hardware and networking equipment.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Attention to detail for proper installation and cabling.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to report issues.
• Team-oriented with ability to follow instructions and work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Rack and Stack: Install servers, switches, routers, and other hardware into racks; ensure cable management.
• Data Cabinet Setup: Build/configure cabinets, mounting hardware per standards.
• Cable Management: Route, label, and secure cables for clean layouts.
• Equipment Testing: Power on and verify operation; perform basic diagnostics.
• Data Center Maintenance: Monitor temperature, power, and environmental controls.
• Documentation: Record hardware installations and changes.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols in the data center.
