This role involves managing diverse teams, ensuring project alignment with company goals, and driving improvements in infrastructure systems. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers, including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, ensuring continuous access to innovation for our customers. You will join a diverse team of engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers. Collaboration across AWS is essential to maintain safety, security, and cost-effective capacity, all within an inclusive culture that values bold ideas and ownership.
The Critical Projects Implementation (CPI) team manages construction activities within operational data center spaces, focusing on infrastructure improvements related to space, power, and cooling, beyond standard construction and maintenance tasks.
We are seeking a Data Center Project Manager to serve as a technical resource. You will oversee projects involving electrical, mechanical, controls, and architectural disciplines, with a need for a fundamental understanding of these systems. Your role includes identifying improvements and deploying innovative solutions to operational challenges, working independently and within multidisciplinary teams. Projects may include upgrades to electrical, mechanical, fire detection, and building automation systems.
The Project Manager will be responsible for project direction, coordination, execution, and completion, aligning with company strategies and goals.
- 5+ years managing projects in data centers or similar critical infrastructure with 24/7 emergency systems, manufacturing, transportation, or utility industries.
- 5+ years in Construction or Project Management, including on-site trades (mechanical, electrical, general) and vendor management.
- BA/BS in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in power distribution and mechanical cooling systems for data centers.
- Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, incorporate feedback, and evaluate new ideas with stakeholders.
- Proven success in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
