Base pay range
$151,000.00/yr - $216,000.00/yr
Meta is seeking an experienced and outgoing individual to join our Data Center Policy team to support our strategic engagement on policy issues that impact our global data center operations and site selection efforts. This role will partner closely with our regional policy, economic development, sustainability and energy teams.
Data Center Policy Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional policy initiatives related to policy proposals focused on data center economic development, site selection and environmental issues that span across multiple teams and organizations
- Support cross-functional policy initiatives on energy and sustainability issues
- Identify and track economic development, environment, sustainability and energy related legislation across US States, US federal and globally when needed, manage review processes across cross-functional partners, and consolidate feedback.
- Work in partnership with internal cross-functional partners, trade organizations, external consultants to identify emerging policy issues that relate to data centers and assess the potential impact to Meta data center operations.
- Develop and manage policy strategies around data center projects that are informed by business needs, research, and the public opinion climate.
- Facilitate alignment across internal teams and external partners, including trade organizations.
- Prepare summary documentation and memos on data center related policies and issues to support external engagement and drive internal alignment.
- Partner with our data center economic and community development, site selection, and energy teams, communications and other policy teams to support data center related events.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, economic development, or energy related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in policy with a focus on using technical policy knowledge to support business needs.
- Direct experience developing and successfully implementing government affairs and outreach strategies, including policies that relate to energy and sustainability.
- Experience prioritizing and completing multiple goals in a quickly changing environment
- Demonstrated experience in the development and successful implementation of strategic initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in working with large cross-functional groups, including technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in managing complex policy related initiatives related to data center, economic development, utility, manufacturing or other large infrastructure projects.
