Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or related technical training or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Data Center Operations, Electrical Systems, Data Center Technology, Mechanical Infrastructure Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Technical Troubleshooting.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use PPE as required.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and shifts.

  • Associate's degree, trade school certification, or other certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in Electrical Infrastructure Systems, Data Center Operations, Electrical Systems, Data Center Technology, Mechanical Infrastructure Systems, Critical Infrastructure and Technical Troubleshooting.
  • Ability to participate in material handling tasks such as lifting, carrying or moving up to 50 lbs of equipment, the required use of OSHA standard safety equipment such as limited weight bearing work platforms, ladders, step stools and personal protective equipment (PPE) like safety harnesses.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and differing work rotations/shifts.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 7 years of experience in maintenance of mechanical/cooling distribution systems or construction/technical environment or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems used in a data center environment (e.g. Chillers, Air handling units, pumps and CRAC/CRAH units).
  • Excellent Adaptability and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of the building management controls systems.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Cooling Infrastructure including water chemistry controls.

  • Have experience in electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems, data center operations, critical infrastructure, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Utilize internal tools to systematically monitor and evaluate Google Data Center (GDC) operational reliability and efficiency. Identify and prioritize key actions to align GDC operations with leadership directives, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Drive a strategic approach across EHS, operations, and maintenance programs to ensure strict compliance with standards. Serve as a resource and mentor for technicians to improve operational processes.
  • Navigate organizational change processes by providing site-level feedback, including appropriate subject matter experts, coordinating with technicians and managers to execute approved decisions, and resolving technical bugs.
  • Lead site-level technical direction on quality and reliability issues impacting regional or global facilities, while providing expert design inputs.
