Google is seeking a Hardware Operations Manager to lead a team of Data Center Technicians responsible for installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of server hardware and components. The role includes overseeing complex installations, networks, and project contingencies, and acting as Area Lead for a large data center portfolio.

The position emphasizes P&L/budget accountability, OPEX management, and safety, with a 25% bonus target and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of experience managing technical teams in charge of installing, configuring, testing, troubleshooting, or maintaining hardware servers and its components.
• 3 years of experience in site-level data center operational leadership.
• 3 years of experience developing and managing managers.
• Experience with different operating systems (e.g., Linux). Experience with developing network architecture.
• Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of individuals; set and communicate priorities that support organizational goals.
• Meet regularly with individuals to discuss performance and development, and provide feedback and coaching.
• Partner with teams to meet goals and stakeholders to manage facility activities and set/implement strategies.
• Maintain, monitor, and execute security and operational procedures and track/analyze trends to identify opportunities for improvements.
• Repair, fix, and perform preventative maintenance on equipment, servers, machines, or infrastructure.
• Support and contribute to EHS and other compliance programs and initiatives.
