Winsupply is seeking a Data Center Operations Intern to gain hands-on experience in managing and maintaining data center facilities, monitoring networks, and supporting facility management. The role offers exposure to real-world projects, audits, and process improvements within a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited university or college at undergraduate or master's level.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including cooling, power distribution, and environmental controls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues related to network and server equipment.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance and updates following procedures.
• Audit data center assets and inventory.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts.
• Maintain network security protocols and enforce policies.
• Support network testing for system integrity and availability.
• Assist in data center cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.
• Document and update SOPs and other documentation.
• Participate in maintenance of fire suppression, HVAC, and other critical systems.
• Collaborate with data center operations staff; participate in meetings and trainings.
• Contribute to data analysis and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in Data Center Operations:

• Monitor and maintain critical infrastructure systems, including cooling systems, power distribution, and environmental controls.
• Support in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues related to network and server equipment.
• Participate in scheduled maintenance and updates, following established procedures.
• Assist in conducting regular audits of data center assets and inventory.

Network Monitoring and Maintenance:

• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
• Help maintain network security protocols, including monitoring access logs and enforcing security policies.
• Support network testing, ensuring system integrity and availability.

Facility Management Support:

• Assist in data center cleanliness, organization, and safety protocols.
• Support the documentation and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other relevant documentation.
• Participate in the maintenance of fire suppression, HVAC, and other critical systems within the facility.

Collaboration and Learning:

• Work closely with data center operations staff to learn best practices and operational procedures.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of data center management and operations.
• Contribute to special projects as assigned, including data analysis and process improvement initiatives.
