The Data Center Community is looking for an extraordinary individual with proven and tested leadership and management skills as a leader in our data center operations organization in Indiana as a Data Center Operations (DCO) Cluster Manager. Data Center Operations Cluster Manager is one of our most senior management roles in the data center environment. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a large organization, managing department heads who own data center infrastructure including the operational availability of network and server systems at scale.

The ideal candidate for this role will understand data center IT infrastructure and Amazon Web Services and understand how the two coexist. If this understanding is contextual you will be served well by your experience.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of Data Center Managers (3-9 front-line supervisors depending on location) and 75-150 hourly associates within Regional Data Centers.
  • Attainment of organizational performance goals and objectives relating to safety, security, availability, scaling, and efficiency in support of our data center operations.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals.
  • Strategic planning and forecasting; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
  • Obsess over team learning and development, both from a technical/functional and soft skills (critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and adaptability) development perspective including mentoring and training.
  • Develop, improve, and share operational best practices across the globe.
  • Hiring, managing, and developing the operations management team including data center managers and data center operations technicians.
  • Planning and executing the Infrastructure Operations component of new AWS data center build-outs, new colocation build-outs, AWS data center expansions, and colocation expansions, including the network and server rack infrastructure to facilitate the daily operations.
  • Experience in successful insourcing and/or outsourcing specific task balancing internal skillsets with frugality.
  • Continuous improvement of operational processes, procedures, methods, and tools.

This position is both working with global partners and managing local leaders so spending time between both spaces daily is a must. Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of people management experience
  • 3+ years of change management experience
  • Experience with technology risk, IT security audit, compliance and/or relevant regulatory knowledge
  • Experience in data mining, data management, reporting, and SQL queries
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, storage, network, security, database administration and cloud infrastructure
  • Experience in capacity planning, operations planning, business analysis or equivalent
  • Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
