Job summary

Meta is seeking a Mechanical Subject Matter Expert to support design, operation, and continuous improvement of data center mechanical systems worldwide. You will be the technical authority on cooling infrastructure, HVAC, chilled water plants, CRAC units, and precision cooling technologies to ensure reliability and efficiency of hyperscale facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent mechanical experience plus required experience.
7+ years in mechanical industry or related trade level experience.
Experience in critical environments and interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings.
Understanding mechanical plans, specs, and equipment shop drawings.

Responsibilities

Serve as onsite technical resource for mechanical infrastructure with emphasis on field operation.
Collaborate across local and global teams to ensure system integrity and change control.
Contribute to the mechanical safety program and site procedures.
Plan and authorize work procedures for mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance and retrofit activities.
Oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
Provide QA/QC oversight for construction and maintenance activities.
Lead or participate in root-cause analyses in area of expertise.
Provide training to engineers and cross-functional teams on mechanical equipment, systems, and safety procedures.
Manage vendor relationships for maintenance and retrofit work.
Provide feedback on global maintenance strategies and design improvements.
Travel 10-15% after onboarding; significant travel during first 1-3 months.
