Job summary

Google Cedar Rapids, IA, USA is seeking a Facilities Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain data center facilities, including HVAC, power, and fluid systems. You will read plans, assist technicians, and help ensure high availability and safety standards.

Typical duties include inspecting mechanical systems, supporting commissioning of new equipment, and resolving abnormal conditions quickly to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent practical experience in a related technical field.
• 5 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in industrial or commercial settings.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and use PPE.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and shifts.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair data center piping and mechanical components.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and sequence of operations; conduct tours of systems.
• Manage uptime and maintenance of water pumps and treatment systems.
• Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in the data center facilities systems and equipment.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment.
