Job summary

CAI, a leading provider of data center commissioning services, seeks a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer in the Ashburn, VA area. This role focuses on mechanical aspects of commissioning projects, including test procedure development, safety, and coordination with vendors to ensure all mechanical systems meet design intent.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years of data center commissioning experience, with strong knowledge of BAS/BMS, HVAC systems, and TAB

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years Data Center Commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs and specs.
• Knowledge of BAS/BMS, AHUs, VRF, CRAC/CRAH, evaporators and sensors.
• Knowledge of TAB process and mechanical trend analysis.
• Strong MS Office experience (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
• Willingness to travel up to 75% on site.

Responsibilities

• Support and contribute to all safety aspects for mechanical tests.
• Assist complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of mechanical systems.
• Develop mechanical test procedures, MOPS, SOOs and checklists.
• QA/QC of all mechanical test procedures.
• Provide input to the overall commissioning plan and daily reports.
• Attend customer Factory Witness Test and coordinate with vendors.
• Inspect equipment for adherence to submittals and test documentation.
• Ensure proper operation and testing of mechanical systems per design intent.
