Beacon Hill Technologies is seeking a Data Center Lab Technician for an onsite role in Durham, NC. The candidate will assist with day-to-day support, configuration, and troubleshooting of data center systems with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

The role requires a foundation in system administration, Linux installations/configuration, and virtualization know-how, with a proactive mindset and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' Experience working in a data center.
• Rack and stack, configurations, installations.
• Linux (OS Installations and Configuration).
• Ruby/Python/Bash.
• Hands-on virtualization experience (Proxmox/VMware).

Responsibilities

• Perform server management tasks including application support, bug triage, break/fix activities, and proactive hardware/software testing.
• Support system deployment and troubleshooting with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement.
• Configure servers, perform rack and stack operations, and assist with cabling setup and validation (e.g., LNTP cables and switch mapping).
• Analyze system logs, review UI and dashboards, and follow documented procedures to resolve alerts and incidents.
• Execute bash scripts and automated tests to validate hardware and network connections.
• Provide support across systems, networking, and virtualization layers while developing deeper knowledge of software and infrastructure components.
