Job summary

AMSYS Innovative Solutions, LLC in Houston is seeking an IT/site lead to manage the data center campus. You will own gpu server deployments, campus network and carrier connections, and the day-to-day operations of colo customers.

You will hire and lead the tech team, coordinate with facilities and cyber teams, and develop MOPs, capacity plans, and rack layouts. Some weeks are hands-on; others are planning and sales support.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data center, colo or network operations.
• Led techs for at least 2 years.
• Experience deploying servers at scale with cabling, BMC, firmware, burn-in and RMAs.
• Familiarity with fiber, VLANs, routing, firewalls and cross-connects.
• Experience with DCIM and labeling standards (TIA-942/606).
• Some Linux and scripting ability (Python or Bash).
• Capacity planning with facilities knowledge.

Responsibilities

Job description

AMSYS is a Houston-based IT company focused on managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud and data center infrastructure.

We re looking for someone to run the IT side of that campus. If it sits in a rack or connects to one, it s yours: GPU server deployments, the campus network and carrier connections, moving and setting up colo customers, and keeping DCIM and monitoring accurate. You ll hire and lead the tech team. You ll also work day-to-day with our facilities manager, who handles power and cooling, and with our managed IT and cyber team.

A typical week might include:

• Racking and bringing up a new batch of GPU servers
• Working with a carrier on a new circuit
• Onboarding a customer into a cage
• Chasing down a failed optic
• Updating rack elevations so the next person isn t guessing

Some weeks you ll be hands-on. Other weeks you ll spend planning capacity, writing MOPs, or helping sales answer a technical question.

You ll probably fit well if you have:

• 7+ years in data center, colo or network operations, with at least 2 years leading techs
• Experience deploying servers at scale, including cabling, BMC, firmware, burn-in and RMAs
• Comfort with fiber, VLANs, routing, firewalls and cross-connects
• Experience running or setting up a DCIM tool, and knowledge of TIA-942 and TIA-606 labeling
• Some Linux and scripting ability (Python or Bash)
• Enough power and cooling knowledge to plan a deployment with facilities, such as A/B feeds and rack kW limits
• Willingness to be on call and to live close enough to get to the site quickly
