Job summary

Outsource is hiring Data Center Technicians in the Ashburn, VA area. This role requires 6+ months of experience in new construction or operational data center environments and is not an IT / Networking role.

Responsibilities include pulling and routing CAT5/6 or fiber, dressing and terminating low voltage wires, installing racks and cable trays, and terminating jacks and distribution frames. Starting pay ranges from $22 to $28 per hour with weekly pay and potential referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Experience installing low voltage cable in data centers or new construction.
• Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC standards.
• Basic telecom tools including punch downs, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, PPE (safety gear), etc.

Data Center Technicians - $22-$28/HR

Outsource is currently hiring Data Center Technicians with 6+ months experience in new construction or operational data center environments.

We have an immediate need in the Ashburn, VA and Fredrick, MD areas.

This is not an IT / Networking Role

Data Center Technician Duties

• Pulling and routing CAT 5 or CAT 6 or Fiber cable in new construction and existing data center environment


• Dressing, labeling and terminating low voltage wires


• Installing support structures (ladder racks, racks, switches, servers, j-hooks, cable trays, basket trays, etc.)


• Terminating voice and data jacks and dressing and terminating distribution frames (66 or 110 blocks, patch panels)


• Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels

Qualifications

• Experience installing low voltage cable in new construction or data center environment is required


• Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards


• Experience troubleshooting networking issues is a plus


• Your own basic telecom tools including punch downs, snips, wire strippers, cordless drill, PPE (safety gear), etc.
