Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Hamlet, NC seeks an Infrastructure Delivery Manager to lead data center operations for a new region build.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators
  • Manage inbound hardware installation from receiving through deployment stages
  • Manage the installation of cabling infrastructure in a data center environment
  • Guide, train and educate staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues
  • Manage tasks and deliverables across small to large-size projects
  • Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
  • Provide weekly reporting to the data center managers
  • Coordinate team resources to support project and delivery needs, to include emergency projects, change management and maintenance window support, and potential off-hours and on-call needs
  • Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
  • Host weekly staff meetings
  • Drive compliance to Amazon performance management requirements

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast paced technology company and a leader in the world of data centers, and we are looking for an Infrastructure Delivery Manager to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team for a new region build in Hamlet, NC.

We are currently looking for a candidate with experience in people management, a robust technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take AWS Data Center Operations to the next level. The successful candidate for this role will create sustainable processes and standards; and drive automation opportunities to reduce delivery cycle times and to improve quality without impacting network availability.

Key job responsibilities
  • Prioritize and assign tasks to data center technicians and operators
  • Manage inbound hardware installation from receiving through deployment stages

A day in the life

This role requires managers to conduct daily in person safety inspections, meetings, and operational tasks across Carolina data center locations. Attendance in person at regional manager staff meetings at data center locations outside of Hamlet, NC may be required at times.

Basic Qualifications
  • 2+ years of in a data center technology role experience
  • 2+ years of in a management or team lead function experience
  • A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of networking infrastructure topology
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • 3+ years of networking (such as DNS, DHCP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP) experience
  • 3 + years of knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
