Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Engineering Program Manager to lead data center infrastructure programs, coordinating network, controls, and data hall deployment across multiple workstreams. This role requires managing complex, high-stakes programs with a broad partner ecosystem, from design through handoff.

• Extensive experience leading engineering programs across multiple lifecycle phases.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional infrastructure programs with diverse disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication for executive updates.

Responsibilities

• Translate infrastructure goals into clear workstream charters, milestones, owners, decision points, and success metrics.
• Build integrated execution plans covering network, controls, data hall design, and deployment readiness.
• Coordinate across network, controls, structural, electrical, mechanical, and operations teams.
• Define milestones with design teams from concept to detailed design and release readiness.
• Maintain dependency maps, risk registers, and action/decision logs for data center workstreams.
• Coordinate design reviews for network rooms, OT/IT interfaces, rack deployment, and telemetry.
• Track building-level interfaces and handoffs affecting programs.
• Organize reviews and keep partner deliverables aligned to schedule.
• Drive readiness tracking for 1P, 3P, colo, and CSP programs with sequencing and handoffs.
• Prepare status updates, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders.
• Capture lessons learned and improve playbooks and standards.
