Job summary

Everforth Apex seeks a Sr. Infrastructure Platform Engineer to oversee physical data center operations across Newport Beach and other sites. You will install, rack, cabling, label, and decommission hardware while managing Windows Server environments across multiple centers.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in data center infrastructure, deep rack/server experience, and familiarity with Nagios/Zabbix/SolarWinds. Travel to Omaha may be required in this hybrid role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Eight or more years of experience in data center operations managing multiple locations with a strong hands-on background in physical infrastructure management.
• Deep expertise in physical rack management, server hardware, virtualization, storage systems, and monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or SolarWinds.
• Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation scripts to reduce manual system administration and familiarity with hyperconverged infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on data center activities, including equipment rack-and-stack, structured cabling, labeling, and hardware decommissioning.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain Windows Server-based systems across multiple physical data centers and platforms.
• Provide escalation support for complex hardware, cabling, power, and thermal management issues, coordinating with facilities and external partners.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure and connectivity issues at the console level to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate physical infrastructure documentation, including cabinet layouts, rack elevations, and capacity tracking records.
• Support virtualization and storage platforms alongside physical hardware deployments.
• Participate in automation and infrastructure modernization initiatives to streamline operational workflows.
• Travel to colocation sites, including facilities in Omaha, to support physical infrastructure projects.
