Job summary

Google is hiring a Hardware Validation Engineer for its Data Center Engineering Labs in Sunnyvale, CA. You will bridge facilities operations with R&D systems engineering, landing and turning up early-stage hardware in a fast-paced lab environment.

You will work in an agile lab, expanding skills into NPI, automated monitoring, and project management while contributing to Google's scalable data center infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 2 years of experience in data center operations or facilities technical environment (or 1 year with advanced degree).
• Experience in systems validation and testing.
• Experience with Linux OS, networking/cabling (fiber/copper), and hardware troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end physical deployment, rack-level integration, power-up, and network turn-up of prototype systems in the lab.
• Perform physical reworks on development equipment including thermal interface materials and custom network cabling topologies.
• Coordinate timelines and logistics for New Product Introductions (NPI) with design engineers to meet landing requirements and schedules.
• Develop scripting automation (Python, Bash) and build dashboards to monitor lab infrastructure health and metrics.
• Troubleshoot hardware, OS, and network issues while upholding safety standards.
