Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Tech Ops Engineer (TOE) for the Generator Service Team to plan, coordinate, and drive technology projects across AWS generator operations in IAD data centers.

You’ll partner with GST managers and SMEs to translate needs into software tools and processes, presenting deliverables with clear plans and metrics to ensure uptime and availability. The role blends technical contribution with project coordination.

• Transform raw technical information into clear documentation including functional requirements and technical specifications.
• Ensure each project has defined measures of success including on-track indicators and cost savings verification.
• Manage trade-offs between available resources and project priorities within GST; run effective meetings.

The Tech Ops Engineer (TOE) for the Generator Service Team (GST) is responsible for planning, coordinating, and driving the execution of technology projects that support the maintenance, and operational readiness of diesel generator operations across AWS IAD data centers. This role serves as the owner for defined projects within the GST, ensuring that preventive maintenance processes and tools, system upgrades, and operational improvement initiatives are delivered on time and with measurable impact. The TOE I partners closely with GST managers and technicians, and subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate technical and operational needs/requirements into software tools and process. The TOE presents deliverable via actionable project plans, removes roadblocks, and drives cross-functional alignment. This role is a technical contributor, coordinator and a communication hub, responsible for keeping stakeholders informed, managing project risks, and ensuring that every initiative has clear measures of success tied to GST uptime and availability.

Key job responsibilities

• Ensure each project has defined measures of success including on-track indicators, cost savings verification, performance metrics, and customer satisfaction measures
• Manage trade-offs between available resources and project priorities within GST - Run effective meetings and deliver the right information to the right audience at the right time
• Clearly articulate scope, timeline, owners, risks, and mitigation steps to leadership up to 3 tiers above level
• Support change management programs through technical writing and documentation
• Supports training GST upon the deployment of new tools and processes
• Uses AWS/Amazon internal tools and resources to deploy solutions proficiently

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of electrical facilities maintenance and 2+ years of mechanical facilities maintenance experience
• 2+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience, or Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
• 1+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
• Experience working with data and analytics
• Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of data center engineering experience
• Experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings
• vocational/technical training or an associate degree or above, or 4+ years of military experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
