Job summary

Generac Power Systems seeks a Field Project Engineer-Data Centers to manage remote and on-site projects, provide technical support, installation and sales support for mission-critical power systems. You will liaise with dealer networks, consulting engineers, electrical and general contractors, and property owners to ensure successful project outcomes.

The role demands a BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, 10 years of relevant power-gen experience, and willingness to travel 25–50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of relevant experience in power generation equipment installation and operations.
• Willingness to travel domestic 25% to 50% of the time.
• Prior experience with project management tools (SOW, Gantt, RASIC).

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of the project scope definition and objectives.
• Prepare overall project schedule based on scope of work and work plan.
• Track deliverables against contract to meet commitments and timeframe.
• Provide consistent project updates to stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
• Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating deliverables.
• Drive team to succeed by monitoring progress and directing adjustments as needed.
• Assist with onsite product operation during substantial completion testing and certifications.
• Develop technical and commercial solutions to support the Energy solutions sales team.
