Job summary

Archetype Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Data Center Splicer to install, splice, terminate, test, and document fiber optic cabling in mission-critical data center environments. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and documentation to support fast-paced projects with high availability.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of fiber optic splicing experience, proficiency with fusion splicing equipment and OTDR testing, and the ability to read construction drawings and splice diagrams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical fiber optics training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years fiber optic splicing experience in data centers or similar settings.
• Knowledge of ANSI/TIA, BICSI standards and splicing/testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion and ribbon splicing, termination of single- and multimode fiber.
• Install, route, dress, and secure fiber cabling per specs and standards.
• Test fiber systems with OTDRs, power meters, light sources and related equipment.
• Interpret drawings, splice matrices, cable schedules, and diagrams.
• Label, document, and maintain records of routes, splice results, and tests.
• Coordinate with project managers and other trades to meet milestones.
