Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure seeks a Sr. Principal Data Center Fiber Deployment Lead to guide data center builds with colocation partners. You’ll own planning, design reviews, commissioning, and QA across complex infrastructure projects.

Based on-site at Oracle’s Data Center in Abilene, Texas, you will manage vendors, contracts, and budget, while ensuring timely delivery, safety, and high-quality standards. Relocation packages are available.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in construction project management in lieu of a degree.
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering or a related field, and 6 years of experience in construction project management.
• Master's degree in construction management engineering or related field, and 3 years of experience in construction project management.
• Data Center Infrastructure Construction: Demonstrated experience coordinating and managing large-scale data center infrastructure buildouts.
• Data Center Equipment: Demonstrated experience in installation, maintenance, and upgrades of data center physical equipment.
• Contract Management: Demonstrated ability to manage the execution and compliance of contracts for goods and services.
• Technical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentoring on complex projects.
• Business Acumen: Demonstrated business acumen in making strategic decisions aligned with organizational goals and industry trends.
• Quality Assurance: Demonstrated ability to plan and carry out quality assurance activities for high-standard deliverables.
• Technical Writing: Demonstrated proficiency in producing clear and comprehensible technical documentation for varied audiences.
• Conflict Resolution: Demonstrated ability to identify, address, and resolve conflicts to maintain positive team dynamics.
• Negotiation: Demonstrated skill in achieving mutually beneficial agreements through effective negotiation and communication.
• Vendor Management: Demonstrated ability to select, onboard, and manage vendor relationships to ensure optimal performance.
• Financial Management: Demonstrated experience in supporting budget planning, tracking, and resource management for business success.
• Program Management: Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional programs, leading teams and allocating resources for timely project delivery.
• Construction Schedule Management: Demonstrated skill in developing, monitoring, and adjusting construction project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead data center fiber deployment in collaboration with colocation providers.
• Ensure projects are on time, within budget, and reach high quality standards.
• Create, review, and maintain project documentation including design reviews and commissioning plans.
• Oversee quality control for construction activities to meet specs and industry standards.
• Manage external vendors, contractors, and suppliers; negotiate and ensure contract compliance.
• Oversee installation of power, cooling, networking, and cabling systems.
• Coordinate startup and commissioning phases of data center projects.
• Serve as primary Oracle contact with colocation providers and relocate as needed.
• Support risk identification, mitigation, and provide tailored solutions.
