Job summary

Google is seeking a Data Center Facility Manager in West Memphis, AR to oversee critical electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and infrastructure systems. You will support daily operations, assist senior technicians, interpret blueprints, and ensure systems meet design specifications.

You will develop approaches to reduce costs, improve efficiency, and uphold environmental and safety standards, with focus on uptime and outage recovery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven years of experience in data center operations or other relevant operational experience in non‑data center industries (e.g., power generation, HVAC and refrigeration, industrial manufacturing, military, oil and gas, maritime, or chemical engineering).
• Five years of experience managing technical teams and vendors responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and controls infrastructure.
• Proficiency in team building, people management, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute campus operational budgets, allocate resources, and forecast expenses.
• Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) with internal teams for uptime, efficiency, and cost are met.
• Lead efforts to integrate corporate-wide strategy and execution with internal and external partners.
• Create cost‑effective operations strategy focused on total cost of ownership.
• Apply critical thinking and innovation to tackle traditional and emerging data center challenges.

Data Center Facility Manager

Facility Technicians support operational excellence through monitoring, maintenance, and repair of critical systems. This role involves daily assistance to senior technicians, interpreting blueprints, conducting tours, and ensuring systems perform to design specifications.

You will develop innovative approaches to reduce operational costs and improve data center efficiency while maintaining environmental and safety standards. In emergencies or abnormal conditions, you will manage performance issues and outages to minimize recovery time.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Seven years of experience in data center operations or other relevant operational experience in non‑data center industries (e.g., power generation, HVAC and refrigeration, industrial manufacturing, military, oil and gas, maritime, or chemical engineering).

Salary and Compensation

US: $122,000 – $174,000 (USD) plus a 15% bonus target, equity, and benefits.
