Job summary

Nortek Data Center Cooling is seeking a Facilities Technician to maintain and optimize our manufacturing facility’s systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building controls. You will troubleshoot issues, coordinate with production and contractors, and keep accurate records in CMMS.

A strong safety mindset and hands-on skills are essential for reducing downtime and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with basic trade knowledge.
• Experience maintaining facility systems and utilities in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read manuals, schematics, and blueprints for repairs.
• Proactive maintenance mindset with strong safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, and building controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment to reduce downtime in manufacturing operations.
• Monitor and maintain facility infrastructure including lighting, doors, docks, roofs, and floors.
• Assist with installation, relocation, and modification of equipment with internal teams and contractors.
• Respond to work orders promptly and document maintenance activities in CMMS.
• Support EHS compliance through inspections and corrective actions.
• Carry out basic fabrication tasks such as carpentry, painting, or light welding as needed.
• Monitor utilities (water, gas, electrical, compressed air) and report abnormalities.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects for reliability and energy efficiency.
• Support emergency response efforts during incidents or weather events.
