Job summary

Google Columbus, OH seeks a Facilities Technician to operate, monitor, and maintain data center physical facilities, including HVAC, pumps, electrical distribution, and monitoring systems. You will inspect, repair, and optimize piping and mechanical components while upholding safety and environmental standards.

As part of the AI and Infrastructure team, you will read blueprints, work with contractors, support startup and commissioning of new equipment, and help minimize downtime during outages,

Qualifications

• 7 years of Mechanical/HVAC experience in industrial or commercial environments.
• Associate's degree or certified training in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and use OSHA safety equipment (PPE, harnesses, ladders).
• Ability to work non-standard hours and varying shifts.
• Experience in HVAC and mechanical infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain, and repair data center piping and mechanical components.
• Read blueprints/schematics and monitor system operations to ensure uptime.
• Manage uptime of water pumps, treatment systems, HVAC and control/monitoring systems.
• Respond to abnormal conditions and outages to minimize downtime.
• Support startup, commissioning, and integration of new mechanical equipment into facilities infrastructure.
