Job summary

Ascent, LLC is hiring a Critical Facilities Manager to oversee the Columbiana, AL data center, coordinating field operations and a 24x7 staff. The role requires strong leadership, facility systems knowledge, and hands-on management of maintenance and upgrades.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in a similar role, with experience in electrical/HVAC systems and building automation, and excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and vendors.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Critical Facilities Manager or similar role.
• BS or technical degree in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
• Knowledge of construction planning and building systems incl. controls, fire and security.
• Familiar with building automation systems.
• Electrical/HVAC certifications preferred.
• Strong scheduling, planning, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site field coordination and PM support for data center operations.
• Manage a 24x7 site operations team of technical and administrative staff.
• Oversee mission critical equipment and building systems.
• Coordinate life safety, mechanical, plumbing, and power activities.
• Report discrepancies and trends to operations and clients.
• Oversee maintenance schedules and vendor performance.
• Provide on-call support (24x7).
• Develop and implement change control, SOPs, ERP procedures.
• Oversee subcontractors for installation and maintenance.
