Job summary

QCS Staffing is hiring a Data Center Facilities Manager to join our client near Birmingham, Alabama, on a permanent contract. You will lead the day-to-day operations of electrical and mechanical systems within a mission-critical data center, ensuring uptime and reliability.

Collaborate with engineering and operations to optimize capacity, improve PUE, and manage preventive maintenance and vendor relationships while enforcing safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in data center or mission critical facilities operations.
• Hands-on knowledge of critical infrastructure systems (UPS, generators, switchgear; cooling systems).
• Experience operating in high availability environments with uptime requirements.
• Proven experience managing vendors, maintenance programs, and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations of electrical and mechanical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, chillers, CRAH/CRAC).
• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance and manage third-party vendors and service providers.
• Partner with engineering and operations teams on capacity planning and infrastructure scaling; improve PUE and energy efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards; uphold HSE guidelines.

Data Center Facilities Manager - Birmingham, Alabama - Permanent Contract

Our client is rapidly emerging as a leading provider of advanced Cloud & AI infrastructure for global innovators.

As they continue to grow, they’re hiring a Data Center Facilities Manager to join their team based near Birmingham, Alabama.

What You’ll Do

• Critical Facilities Operations – Own day to day operations of electrical and mechanical systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, and cooling infrastructure
• Maintenance & Vendor Management – Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all facility systems. Manage and hold accountable third party vendors and service providers
• Capacity, Efficiency & Optimization – Partner with engineering and operations teams on capacity planning and infrastructure scaling. Monitor and improve PUE and overall energy efficiency
• Compliance, Safety & Risk Management – Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. Maintain strong adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, Environmental) standards

What you’ll need

• Extensive experience in data center or mission critical facilities operations
• Strong hands on knowledge of critical infrastructure systems including; Electrical distribution (UPS, generators, switchgear), cooling systems (chillers, HVAC, CRAH/CRAC, liquid cooling exposure preferred)
• Experience operating in high availability environments with strict uptime requirements
• Proven experience managing vendors, maintenance programs, and incident response
